A new workshop

It's been such a long time since my last post. This year indeed has been crazy busy and I admit, with Facebook being such an easy way to update my status, this blog has sorta taken a backseat.

However I do want to share with you my new workshop next month!!!

It's gonna be a Tattered Angels endorsed workshop and you are gonna be playing with all the 4 different mediums from the TA family!!

We are gonna be misting the Pink Paislee Shadowbox frame and will complete with an accordion mini album as well!

It's gonna be Sooooo much fun!

it's the most wonderful time... of the year.....

It's November already... I cannot believe how this year has flown by... We are gearing up to my favourite time of the year - CHRISTMAS!!! YEY!!!!!!!  It's also a really busy time both at work and at home.  Lots to do at work since it is the retail peak period as well as presents to buy for Christmas.  Should I even attempt Christmas cards this year?  LOL!

I have many scrappy projects lined up these 2 weeks that needs completion as well... bz bz bz!!

This month I have a new TATTERED ANGELS Endorsed workshop at MADE WITH LOVE!  It's called GLIMMER GLAM and it's a techniqued based mini album workshop. It'll be soo much glimmery fun!  I did a count and we will be using more than 15 different colors/types of mediums from Tattered Angels.  Glimmer Mists, Chalkboard Mists, Glimmer Glam, Glimmer Glaze.....ohhhh...ME LOVE!!!!

I heard the classes filled up within a day..... thank you everyone for your support!  Don't worry if you do not have a spot, put yourself on the wait list.  I will also reprise this workshop next month though the dates are not confirmed yet.

It's September!!!!

GOSH! Where did August go????? I have been so busy that I've been such a bad blogger..... August was a super month coz we had so many celebrations going on... my nephew's first month, my mom's birthday, Eugene's birthday as well as mine.  The month just flew by!

It's September and can you believe it?  We've turned the corner and I suppose we can start counting down to Christmas now? lol!  Lots of Christmas supplies are available at the store now so I guess it is never to early to crank out those Christmas cards and presents.  I'm such a procrastinator.. maybe I should get started earlier this year. We'll see.

I have a new workshop this month using CRATE PAPER's uber yummy RESTORATION collection.  It was love at first sight when I saw the collection!  I knew I had to use it for a new workshop.  The supplies just arrived last week so I really did not have much time to work on the layouts... it was ALL SYSTEMS GO the minute it came!  I am glad to say that the layouts are completed and I am really happy with them.  Here is a sneak peek :

crazy weeks.....

I'm still here..... just insanely busy and tired. LOL!  The store is undergoing a facelift in stages and it's been crazy busy for all of us the past few weeks and the weeks to come!  Still.... it's good crazy though!

Just wanted to share a layout I did previously as a challenge between Kelly and Anne-Marie.  We had to use this cool and loud 'Granny Smith' Green cardstock and pair it up with the equally loud and colourful DE LOVELY collection from Cosmo Cricket.  Also, there had to be some mediums on the layout, some black and no flowers.

This is what I did.... :)

On another note .... i altered a 7Gypsies Artist Printer's Tray for my mother for Mother's Day using Basic Grey's newest Capella line of papers and Prima flowers.  It was FEATURED PROJECT over at TwoPeas!

I had lotsa fun putting together the tray.  This is something defintely departed from my usual style but well it's for mom and I'm glad she loved !  Would you want to do this in a workshop? LOL!

@ home...

There are days that I enjoy working from home.  It's quiet and peaceful.. and I get alot done.  I used to work from home for quite a long while before MWL and i know some people say that it is very dangerous to work from home coz its too comfortable and nothing gets done.  Well for me, it isnt the case.  I like the quiet of an empty house (not that my house is always noisy LOL!) and just listening to the neighbourhood in the afternoon.  The children from the nearby kindergarten come out to play around 4pm plus... the birds chirping outside my home and the ocassional yells from the rag and bone guy.  I do get quite a fair bit done as no one is around to distract me.  I also got pretty good at multitasking as I'm usually working on both my PC and Mac and sometimes shuttle between my scrap area and the computers.

My mind is wired a little differently.. i kind of like doing little bits of things rather than finishing 1 thing in a seating.  Eg:  I can be purchasing for the store, doing some pricing, searching for something online, scrapping for a workshop all in the same afternoon. LOL.

The one thing that irks me when I am home is that without fail on afternoons, like clockwork, my neighbour downstairs would light up his cigarette and chat with his friend on the phone.  My study is just above where he likes to stand and chat.  I really HATE the smoke smell.

Anyways today in betwen work... i finally decided to clear my scrap area. (Can i say the clean table did not even last 2 hours as its a little messy now again.  I just scrapped a little. LOL).  Sighhhh what can I say... I am inspired by a clean space.

I finished up a layout that was sitting around for a few weeks.  During CHA, Allison from Hambly Screen Prints gave me some limited edition Hambly goodness (THANKS ALLISON!!!!).  I scrapped with them .. love the new prints so much especially the new Doillies overlay!

I had to scrap these photos about our visit to Jamba Juice @ Las Vegas.  The lady who made Eugene's order made quite a bit extra by accident and instead of throwing the extras away (like any store in Singapore would do *rolls eyes*), she actually poured the extras into a smaller cup!  Really worth the mention!

OH and can you see the exclusive MADE WITH LOVE stamp by Maya Road in the layout?  It was designed by KELLY!!!!!! Love the stamp!! :)

This is another simple layout I did with the Hambly goodness sometime back in Feb but never posted it.

I have so many Christmas projects that need my attention (like immediately!)  but this photo was begging to be scrapped.  I had to scrap it! We took this photo 2 weeks ago while walking down Orchard Road and soaking in the Christmas atmosphere. :)

Made a quick layout with no patterned paper (hamblys don't count) and i love it so so so much.. especially that Cinder (Black) glimmer mist!

 

I mixed several glimmer mist colours to get this effect.. just adding the layers by spraying them onto the cardstock.  In case you wanted to replicate the effect - colours were:  CINDER, DREAMSICLE, CHERRY LIMEADE, MUSTARD SEED

Then of coz i had to dig into my Hambly stash.. these were left overs/scraps from previous layouts.  Love that stamp! I got it online quite long ago so I cannot remember where it is from.

I managed to scrap on sunday and did 2 layouts!  the Made With Love team went on a mini retreat and we stayed up on Sunday night scrapping our hearts out.  It was really fun!  I have not been able to scrap anything recently as my scrap area is really messy and soooo uninspiring at the moment. lol. 

So happy that I managed to churn out these layouts :)

I just loooove how this layout turned out.  The COLLAGE PRESS papers were really yummy to play with and also their die cut rings.  I've wanted to scrap about the little things that Eugene would do for me.. you know, everyday stuff.. these photos were perfect.  We took them on a whim one day.

And this second one.... ahhhh! fun times.  The bunch of us cousins decided to take silly photos and what better papers to use then the lovely and fun Sassafras!  I especially love Eugene's expressions on all the photos.. classic!  I'm sure this page will bring laughter for many years to come.  We are very close... us cousins.  We meet regularly on Sundays and play board / card games together.  Love them lots!

Well I'm pretty much drowning with work here... the CHA Summer catalogs and sneaks are coming in fast and furious.... I've been working on my Mac and my PC simultaneously all week amongst so many other things that needs to be done.  In between taking breaks from staring at the comps, I wanted to also finish the new workshop for next month.  LOL.. I feel like my brain is now going in different tangents..... i work on my pc/mac for some time.. then when I get tired of it.. I go to my VERY VERY MESSY scrap area (always happens when I'm planning a workshop) and try to add some stuff to the layouts. 

It's been like that the past few weeks. LOL.  I think I need a mental break soon. 

Anyways the workshop layouts are finally complete.. YEY!!!!!!  Want a sneaky peeky???  Well I posted in my previous post that we're gonna be working with really nice colours - pinks, greens, yellows, blues,whites etc.. so drum roll....... the workshop will feature products from one of Basic Grey's latest offering - LEMONADE!  Woooooopdeedoo!

It's the weekend.. what are your plans?  Tomorrow we get to go have a sneak preview at the much talked about ION.  The mall opens on Tuesday .... wonder whats the big hype about it.  We'll see tomorrow.  It's probably full of stores with things I cannot afford. LOL.

i did this sometime back but forgot to post it up.... just another one to add to my Starbucks "album".... i should really go get a dedicated album for all my starbucks layouts.. hehe.
