Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered

My happy place....

My Happy time of the year...... i absolutely LOVE it when Starbucks cups become RED!  This means that it's CHRISTMAS time!!!!!  If you know me, you will know that I am a huge huge Starbucks fan!  Red cups season means seasonal drinks...... means Peppermint Mocha.. means yummmmmmm!

This also means its about time I start planning for my family's annual Christmas party.  My sis and I plan the party each year... with the theme, the food as well as the games!  It's always an awesome party filled with good fellowship, good food and loooads of fun.  I can hardly wait!

I'm  heading down to Surabaya this week for MADE WITH LOVE's new store opening, doing some Make and Takes there as well as teaching a workshop there on Saturday!  If you are from there, do drop by and say hi ya???

it's the most wonderful time... of the year.....

It's November already... I cannot believe how this year has flown by... We are gearing up to my favourite time of the year - CHRISTMAS!!! YEY!!!!!!!  It's also a really busy time both at work and at home.  Lots to do at work since it is the retail peak period as well as presents to buy for Christmas.  Should I even attempt Christmas cards this year?  LOL!

I have many scrappy projects lined up these 2 weeks that needs completion as well... bz bz bz!!

This month I have a new TATTERED ANGELS Endorsed workshop at MADE WITH LOVE!  It's called GLIMMER GLAM and it's a techniqued based mini album workshop. It'll be soo much glimmery fun!  I did a count and we will be using more than 15 different colors/types of mediums from Tattered Angels.  Glimmer Mists, Chalkboard Mists, Glimmer Glam, Glimmer Glaze.....ohhhh...ME LOVE!!!!

hmmmmm....

Why is it that everytime I clear my scrap area... it does not stay neat and cleared for even a day.  sigh.  A clean table makes me feel inspired and creative... and then i start pulling stuff out to play .... and one thing leads to another....... and yep.  the area gets messy again.  AND WHEN IT DOES.  I don't want to look at it and i feel so so uninspired.

You see.. it's a vicious cycle. I need to maintain a neat area to feel creative but i can barely keep it neat for a day.... a clean area gets me all excited and in a scrappy mood. LOL!  I'm pretty much screwed here.

Today I'm thinking about Christmas and how the end of the year is fast approaching. ... and dreaming of when THIS will appear ......

STARBUCKS HOLIDAY RED CUPS!  I can't wait.  :)

i did this sometime back but forgot to post it up.... just another one to add to my Starbucks "album".... i should really go get a dedicated album for all my starbucks layouts.. hehe.

I'm in withdrawal... someone get me a Starbucks IV drip pronto! ...... i havent had my cuppa for about 2 weeks????????????  The Starbucks at Plaza Singapura has been undergoing renovation for that long... and i have half the mind to take an extra stop on the NEL line to Clark Quay to get my fix tomorrow before heading to the store.  Walking to Cathay in the blazing heat would be out of the question.

I know i posted on my facebook a few days back that I wanted to head down to a nearby Starbucks from home to work there and have breakfast.... but alas that did not happen too.

busy busy busy..... been a busy bee.  too much to do with too little time.  Story of all our lives aint it?  Anyways just a quick one tonight to show my latest scrapbook page.  I started it over the weekend but only managed to complete it today after rearranging the photos and papers over and over again. LOL.

Starbucks.... hehhhhee... i HAD to document the holiday red cups right?  Maybe I should just start a new album just for all my starbucks layouts. hehehee.

If you're wondering how i did the strips on the top right hand of the layout.. well I was browsing a Starbucks brochure one day while waiting for my coffee and saw this section in there.... i HAD to use it for this layout.. heehehehe.  HAD TO!

 

I'm a little bummed that they took out the Holiday Peppermint Blend this year.. no peppermint mocha.. *bummer!!!*...  i always look forward to it every Christmas as they always serve the drink with a nice candy cane.  Not that I will eat the candy cane (its sooo sweet) but it really just makes me in a Christmassy mood....  well.... this year's new DARK CHERRY FRAP is not too bad too.  A little dry but pretty much okay.

Miss my peppermint mocha though.

Thank you all who came up to me at the store and asked me about my shoulder.  Its better now thanks to Salon Pas but still feelin' a lil sore.. it'll get better soon.

The weekend (at least for me) is finally here but I cant really rest tomorrow as I'll be at ParkRoyal Hotel at that heart of Little India (on the eve of deepavali no less) to help my dad on the last day of the Sight & Sound Exhibition.  Business seems pretty okay even though the financial market seems to be crumbling like nobody's biz.  Hope business for dad stays that way... you never know, with what seems to be luxury items that are not integral in day to day living.  These are the first things people abandon during financial meltdowns.  In case you're wondering what business my dad is in.... he owns a well respected high end hi fi business selling nothing but the best and I really respect my dad for who he is, what he does and basically starting the business from scratch.

So i've been thinking about scrapbooking and what I have done the past month... it dawned upon me that i have been scrapping like a mad cow the whole month churning out layout after layout but they have all been for work.  I think I've done  6-7 layouts this month so far and actually that is a record for me.  Alas.... they have all been for work and no personal pages to show (except the quick one i did for Dad).  I really need to take some time and scrap my own stuff soon.  I have so much stash and supplies piling up.... begging for me to use them.  I also think i need to take more photos soon!

Anyways while we're on the topic of scrapbooking.. why don't i share another sneaky peekie of next month's workshop. .. hehehehe

It's really gonna be a fun class coz the colours are sooo happy and cheerful!  I really felt happy creating these layouts.  There are actually 4 in total but you'll finish 3 in the class with supplies and instructions for a 4th one.  Well who knows.. if you're really quick in class, you can even start on the 4th one!

Sooooo..... today I walk into Starbucks for my usual cuppa when I saw a sign that said "RED CUP in 7 days"  ..... RED CUP means that..... wait a min!  CHRISTMAS is coming !!!!!! woooooooot!

I can't wait for Red Cups to appear in my favourite coffee place.... sooon the weather will get cooler... the lights on Orchard Rd will go up.. Christmas songs will be playing in the mall and my FAVOURITESSSST season of the year will be here!!! 

I was chatting with the Baristas there that wow... Starbucks is really early starting Christmas in 7 days and that I can't wait for my annual treat of Peppermint Mocha.. their Holiday blended drink..... but the barista said that there were rumors that this yr there will be NO PEPPERMINT blend.. OMG!!!! How can it be!! That has to be their most popular drink during Xmas season.  SO SAD!!! I hope they bring something pepperminty to the drinks menu though!  Uggh.

a new card game and layout...

It's been an interesting last couple of days..... the sickies DID rain on me after all.. I was sick most of Friday and Saturday but felt alot better towards the evening.  We celebrated Mom's Birthday at M Hotel's Steamboat Buffet.  The spread was pretty good..... 

Aik! I forgot to take any photos.. LOL!

Eugene and I also bought a new card game called 'BANG'.  Really fun game to play!

"This card game recreates an old-fashioned spaghetti western shoot-out, with each player randomly receiving a Character card to determine special abilities, and a secret Role card to determine their goal."

Four different Roles are available, each with a unique victory condition:

• Sheriff - Kill all Outlaws
• Deputy - Protect the Sheriff and kill any Outlaws
• Outlaw - Kill the Sheriff
• Renegade - Be the last person standing

Now I gotta go get the cards back from my parents' home and laminate them.  It is really important to laminate cards from these card games to preserve their lifespan.... (even though waiting for each card to be laminated can be quite a pain!)

Also completed this layout last nite.... another one about my Starbucks obsession. HEHE

Ahhh..mmm.. starbucks yum.

Gee.. i could really get used to this typepad thingamajig... its sooo simple and i really like the usability and ease.  I'm sitting at Starbucks just next to Wheelock Place typing away on my lappy right now... enjoying a nice Dark Mocha Frap.  Yums.. this is quite the life. :)

Went back to the store today to settle some stuff that I needed to use for my Beautiful Mess workshop.  They are 95% complete... phew!  Took me an entire week to create the 6 layouts.  I will post sneak peaks of them soon.  Actually 1 week to do the 6 layouts is really FAST for me.. probably coz i had the day time to work on them too.. being on leave.   I usually take a couple of weeks to create for the workshop.

Ah well.. guess i can now sit back , relax and enjoy the rest of my leave till Monday.  PHEW!
